Employee of the Month for October 2026: Congratulations, Michael!

Written by Chris Gorman | Nov 4, 2026, 12:20:17 PM

A huge congratulations to Michael, our October Employee of the Month!

Michael was nominated by Ashley for the support, perspective and honesty he brings to the team, particularly when working through difficult issues, new ideas and changes within the business.

Ashley highlighted Michael’s willingness to listen and act as a sounding board, but also his ability to challenge ideas constructively rather than simply agreeing with them. Whether it’s talking through a problem, testing a new approach or giving an honest perspective on an internal change, Michael takes the time to help colleagues think things through and get to a better outcome.

It’s an approach that reflects several of Apex’s core values, particularly teamwork, integrity and enabling growth. Being a great teammate isn’t always about having the loudest voice or taking the lead. Sometimes it’s about being the person others can turn to for honest advice, a different perspective and the confidence to challenge something when there might be a better way.

Michael’s contribution extends into our wider work to continually improve how we support our customers, too. During October, he was involved in developing a pilot to strengthen the way callers requesting access or privilege changes are validated, alongside the wider team’s focus on improving security processes.

The recognition is particularly fitting after Michael was also recently named our overall Values Champion, making his Employee of the Month win another well-deserved acknowledgement of the impact he has across Apex.

Plenty more to celebrate

Michael wasn’t the only person recognised this month. October’s nominations highlighted just how many people across Apex have gone the extra mile to support colleagues, customers and the wider business.

Jon was recognised for stepping up and taking primary responsibility for customer calls and ticket creation while balancing his usual workload. Kate, Laura, Harriet and Hasan were also thanked for helping manage the overflow queue and supporting the team.

James was nominated for being someone colleagues can depend on, consistently making time to help and support others when needed.

Rachael was recognised for representing Apex at the North West Business Expo, organising our wine-tasting event and keeping a busy pipeline of upcoming marketing campaigns and events moving forward.

Iain was recognised for his continued support across the service team, particularly when helping with more difficult customer situations and contributing to improvements in the way we deliver our services.

Ross received recognition for his work on internal processes and staff training, as well as regularly stepping in to support the wider team.

And finally, Luke and Ross received some fantastic feedback directly from a customer following a network project, recognising their professionalism and diligence. It was another great example of the standard of work our customers see from the team every day.

Well done, Michael!

Employee of the Month is ultimately about recognising the everyday contributions that make Apex a better place to work and help us deliver a better service to our customers.

This month’s nominations covered everything from supporting colleagues and improving processes to delivering customer projects and representing Apex externally. But Michael’s willingness to listen, challenge, help and give an honest perspective made him a very worthy winner.

Congratulations again, Michael, and a huge well done to everyone nominated in October.
