We're delighted to announce Simon Mills, our Service Desk Manager as our Always A Team Champion, following our Living The Values Awards at our Summer Family BBQ. The awards were given based on feedback and nominations from everyone here at Apex!
I was truly touched that I received this award, but this goes to show that I will do anything to help anyone and throw myself into everything and get my hands dirty. (Not physically though - I have to have clean hands).
Everyone at Apex works as a team, they are focused on customer support, everyone is reliable, and we all enable growth. I do this in my day-to-day tasks at Apex and in the way I deliver feedback and actions to staff.
Putting my feet up and talking to my cat who does in fact answer me back.

I would buy a house for my dad and move him into a nicer area now that he has retired. I would buy a holiday home, and rent it out - maybe somewhere up in Lancashire near the Lake District and go on a few holidays. I've always wanted to go to New Orleans and explore the culture.
Managing a call centre or working in hotels probably.
To go on holiday again. Recently went to Benidorm again and had an absolute blast and made some new friends. We are all talking about going back in September next year.

No day is the same at Apex which is great. Each day comes with different challenges. Each day is an experience and I am always learning on the job. It's amazing how much knowledge and experience is provided on the job. It's exciting.
After working in hotels for almost 14 years, I decided to change industry and sector and chose IT. Within the hotel industry I was the designated member of staff who made sure hotel systems were up to date and back ups were successfully completed. Since joining Apex as a Service Desk Coordinator, I gained further knowledge and got to understand the running of a service desk department. And now I have successfully landed the role of Service Desk Manager.
It sounds cheesy but it's the people. We have some amazing members of staff who work here. Everyone is so friendly and approachable, not to mention knowledgeable. I learn something new from each and every one of them. Plus, we are based at Salford Quays, it's a lovely area and everything is more or less on the door step - even Maccies and Starbucks down the road!
