Charity of the Year 2017 – Manchester Carers

Manchester Carers Centre

Towards Christmas last year, we approached Manchester Carers to see if they would like to be our charity of the year for 2017.  They had been a customer of ours for a few years and we knew how hard they worked & how much of an impact they had on the Manchester community. We wanted to give them a very special Christmas present, we wanted to give vital help to the Centre that would last into 2017 and beyond.

There are over 60,000 carers in Manchester; it’s a cause close to the hearts of company directors Daniel Shone and Chris Gorman who know the commitment unpaid carers give to individuals with disabilities and health problems. By putting Manchester Carers Centre on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Hosting for free and giving dedicated free IT support for 18 months, the charity will be able to function more effectively and better spread its message throughout the region to reach more carers in need.

A gift with lasting value

Following on from the success of previous fundraising efforts, the team at Apex decided to provide a lasting gift that would foster the growth of Manchester Carers Centre in these very difficult financial times for small local charities.

“We never cease to be amazed by the inspiring stories of the young & adult carers that Manchester Carers Centre work with. It’s a fantastic cause and a brilliant local charity, we hope that our small contribution to their wonderful work will help to raise awareness of the need to support local charities with much-needed donations and help in kind.” says Daniel Shone, Director.

Supporting a worthy cause

This latest initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to helping those in the local community. Being a Manchester based I.T. company that started out in Sale, Apex has grown and provides services to businesses and not-for-profit organisations in Manchester and Greater Manchester from its base now in Altrincham. Apex are proud to be part of a long-standing relationship with Manchester Carers Centre and hopes to help the local community of unpaid carers as much as it can. “Apex believes it is important for businesses to get behind local charities to help them survive in this tough economic climate” says Chris Gorman, Director
