When someone new joins a business, it can take time to settle in, build relationships and make their mark. For Callum Bickerstaffe, however, that process has been remarkably quick. Despite only being with Apex for a few months, he has already established himself as a valued member of the Support team, making a significant impact through his technical expertise, proactive attitude and commitment to doing the right thing for both customers and colleagues.

Callum has consistently demonstrated the Values we strive for as a business. Colleagues highlighted the positive attitude he brings to the team every day, along with his willingness to challenge processes and approaches when something doesn't seem right. Rather than simply accepting the status quo, he looks for opportunities to improve outcomes, helping to raise standards and set an example for what good looks like.

One area specifically recognised in his nominations from his peers was his work supporting customers affected by Microsoft's SharePoint over-quota enforcement. What could have been a complex, time-consuming and potentially disruptive issue for customers was met with determination and ownership. Callum drove the work through to a successful resolution, helping to remove risk for customers and preventing what could have become a significant headache for both them and the team.

His impact has extended beyond individual technical tasks, too. Following a recent issue that affected multiple customers, Callum looked beyond the immediate tickets in front of him and took the initiative to review the wider customer base, identifying others who may have been impacted. He proactively gathered information for the Client Services team, enabling meaningful customer engagement that addressed short-term concerns while also supporting longer-term improvements and potential cost savings.

Colleagues also praised his willingness to step up when needed. Whether tackling challenging customer conversations with professionalism and positivity or taking on additional responsibilities as interim T2 Lead, Callum has approached every challenge with confidence and maturity. His customer-focused mindset, proactive approach and willingness to go the extra mile have made him a real asset to the Service Desk.

Congratulations, Callum, on being named our Employee of the Month for September. Your contribution in such a short space of time has been outstanding, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.

A special mention for Michael and Ross

This month's decision was far from straightforward. Michael Markides (T3 Lead - Problem and Change Manager) and Ross Ansell (T3 Engineer) also received strong nominations after demonstrating exceptional commitment, going above and beyond their roles, and consistently living our company values.

The quality of nominations received for all three colleagues highlights the strength of the team and the dedication shown across the business. While Callum ultimately took the award this month, Michael and Ross both deserve special recognition for their outstanding efforts and the positive impact they continue to make every day.

Congratulations to all three of you, and thank you for everything you do for Apex!
