We are now proud to say that we support three businesses in the Falklands.

Back in 2014 we received a very interesting phone call. The Falklands Conservation Society rang up Apex and asked if we could provide them with IT Support. The only problem was that they were over 7000 miles away, 7864 miles to be exact.

After several phone calls & research into the Falklands Conservation and the great work they do out there, our M.D. Daniel Shone decided to make the trip.

So, in June 2014 Daniel ventured out to the Falkland Islands to install a server and carry out various other IT requirements that Falklands Conservation had requested.

He was then invited to go on a trip to Volunteer Point to see the King Penguins. Daniel said, ‘It was one of the best experiences I have ever had, being so close to the penguins was incredible’. Volunteer Point is an impressive peninsula to the north of East Falkland. It is a privately-owned nature reserve and is reached by a 3-hour journey from the Falklands capital, Stanley.

Fast forward to November 2017 and Apex receives another call from the Falkland Islands. This time its Falklands Legal and they would like us to support them too.

One of our support engineers, Nathaniel Gill has previously already worked in the Falkland Islands for 2.5 years. He understands the challenges that businesses face on the Island. With his tacit knowledge and Daniel’s experience of visiting the island, they both understand the landscape and the technological bottlenecks that businesses there face.

Right, after writing this blog, we get another call from Falklands Tourist Board.

After the successful on-boarding of both, we are now proud to say that we support three businesses in the Falklands.
