What a night for Apex! We headed to the Prolific North Tech Awards with four nominations recognising our growth, our culture and the leadership behind the business, and we’re incredibly proud to be coming away as an award winner. Being recognised alongside some of the North’s most exciting technology businesses is a brilliant moment for our whole team and a chance to celebrate just how far we’ve come.

Proud to be winners of the Best Culture Award

This one means a lot. Apex has won the Best Culture Award, recognising something we’ve worked incredibly hard to protect and strengthen as the business has grown.

Culture at Apex isn’t something that sits separately from the day job. Our values are built into recruitment, onboarding, reviews, recognition and everyday decision-making, while we continue to invest in wellbeing, learning and development, Culture Club activities and opportunities for our people to grow. Our recent employee engagement results showed 93% positive promoters, 92% pride in working at Apex and 93% saying they would recommend Apex as a great place to work.

So while there will only be a few of us there to collect the award tonight, this very much belongs to Team Apex. Our culture is created by the people who live it every day, and we couldn’t be prouder to see them recognised.

We were also up for 3 other awards, which we didn't unfortunately come away winning, but are very proud to have been shortlisted for. Congratulations go to all of the winners and nominees on the evening!

Proud finalists for High-Growth Tech Company of the Year

We didn’t take home High-Growth Tech Company of the Year tonight, but making the shortlist was still an important recognition of just how far Apex has come. We’ve achieved revenue growth of over 50% in just two years, from 2023 to the end of 2025, but the story behind those numbers matters just as much: investment in our people, leadership and specialist capabilities, alongside a clear long-term direction for Apex.

Being recognised alongside some of the North’s most ambitious technology businesses is something we’re genuinely proud of. Congratulations to tonight’s winner, and we’re looking forward to seeing where the next stage of our own growth takes us.

A brilliant achievement for Daniel Shone

It wasn’t to be for Daniel Shone in the Tech Founder of the Year category tonight, but seeing Daniel shortlisted amongst the North’s technology leaders was a fantastic achievement in itself.

Daniel has played a pivotal role in Apex’s growth, helping to shape our commercial strategy, marketing direction and long-term vision. We see the impact of that work inside Apex every day, so having it recognised externally by the Prolific North Tech Awards was a very proud moment for the business.

A huge congratulations to tonight’s winner and, from all of us at Apex, well done Daniel.

Celebrating Chris Gorman's Tech Leader of the Year shortlist

Chris Gorman didn’t take home Tech Leader of the Year tonight, but having our CEO recognised amongst the North’s leading technology figures remains something we’re enormously proud of.

Under Chris’s leadership, Apex has continued to evolve its strategy and strengthen its culture while balancing commercial growth with a genuine commitment to our people and customers. The shortlist provided an opportunity to recognise that contribution beyond Apex, and we’re incredibly pleased to have seen Chris represented amongst such a strong group of technology leaders.

Congratulations to tonight’s winner, and a huge well done to Chris from everyone at Apex.
