Three years ago, we achieved Investors in People Silver. Today, we are incredibly proud to share that we have achieve Investors in People Platinum – the highest level of accreditation!

For us, this is a huge milestone. But more than that, it’s a celebration of our people, our culture and the values that guide our work every day.

As our Managing Director, Daniel, puts it:

“For us, this is more than a badge. It’s recognition of the journey we have been on as a business, the culture we have built, and the commitment our team shows every day.”

At Apex, we have always believed that great technology starts with great people. Our team’s knowledge, care, commitment and willingness to support one another are what shape the experience our customers receive.

Our CEO, Chris, added:

“Achieving Platinum is something we’re incredibly proud of because it’s recognition of the culture we’ve built together. It shows that putting people first isn’t something we talk about, it’s how we operate every day.”

Growing with purpose

Apex’s vision is to be the leading IT solutions partner in the North. A business that customers want to partner with, and where our team feel supported and inspired. Since our Silver accreditation in 2023, we have continued to grow and evolve as a business. We have strengthened our leadership structure, developed a clearer long-term strategy and created a more focused, accountable and measurable organisation.

But growth at Apex has never been just about size. It’s been about building the right foundations, creating opportunity and protecting the supportive culture that makes Apex what it is.

“We’ve become more intentional about our culture and our people. We’ve introduced clearer career pathways, invested more in leadership and development, and create more opportunities for people to have a voice in shaping the business. We’ve grown, but we’ve worked hard to keep the supportive, team-first culture that got us here,” says Chris.

Living our Apex values every day

A big part of our Platinum journey has been making our values more central to everyday life at Apex. They’re not just words on a wall. They’re embedded into recruitment, onboarding, reviews, one-to-ones, recognition and decision-making.

These values truly shape how we work with each other, how we support our customers, and how we continue to grow as a business.

Creating opportunities for our people to grow

For our team, Platinum is especially meaningful because it reflects the kind of workplace Apex is continuing to build – one where people are listened to, supported and given opportunities to grow.

Since 2023, we have created 29 development opportunities through internal progression, apprenticeships and secondments. We’ve also protected time for self-development, invested in accreditations, improved wellbeing support and created a more structured approach to personal development.

The feedback from our team makes this achievement even more special: 92% of our team say they are proud to work here, and 93% would recommend Apex as a great place to work.

“We’ve built a culture where people are trusted, encouraged to grow and celebrated for their successes, and that’s what makes Apex such a great place to work,” says Chris.

Why people-first matters to our customers

Investing in our people isn’t separate from delivering great customer service. It’s directly connected.

Chris says: “Our people are the business. Technology changes constantly, but it’s the knowledge, commitment and relationships our team builds with clients that make the difference. By investing in development, wellbeing and opportunities to progress, we’re investing in better outcomes for our clients and a stronger future for Apex.”

That’s why Investors in People Platinum means so much to us. It recognises the strength of our internal culture, but it also reflects the standard of service we want our customers to experience every day.

Platinum isn’t the finish line

As proud as we are of this achievement, Platinum isn’t the finish line. It gives us a stronger foundation for the future. As Apex continues to grow, we will stay focused on developing our people, strengthening leadership, supporting wellbeing, creating opportunity from within and making sure our team grows with the business.

As Daniel puts it: “This achievement belongs to everyone at Apex. I’m incredibly proud of what we have built together – and even more excited about what comes next.”

This is a proud moment for everyone at Apex. Investors in People Platinum celebrates our people, our culture, and the values that guide us every day. Most of all, it celebrates Team Apex – the people who make our business what it is.
