You’re hired – Apex Computing appoints Apprentice Thomas Williams as your NEW IT Support Engineer

In December 2015 Thomas Williams became a permanent member of the IT Support Engineer team.

Director, Daniel Shone shares his experience working with Thomas over the past year:

Working with Thomas and developing his skills over the past twelve months has allowed us to integrate Thomas into the team and build his skillset around our requirements. Thomas has worked hard to ensure that he has a place at Apex Computing Services after he had completed his apprenticeship and his full time placement in the company is well deserved.

Thomas shares his views on his new role, responsibilities and what he’s achieved over the past year:

Q: What are your day to day new roles as an IT Support Engineer?

A: As I’m part of the Engineer team my main roles are to support other engineers on the help desk and complete tickets that are assigned to me. Since I’ve been brought on as permanent member of the team I’ve also been given more responsibility whilst on-site visits to customers, this is helping to increase my communication and social skills in the workplace.

Q: What have you achieved over the past year in your Apprenticeship?

A: I have sucessfully passed the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Security and Networking exams, and I have been awarded the Advanced Apprenticeship in IT certification.

Q: Moving forward as an IT Support Engineer, what do you hope to achieve in the next few years?

A: As I am now an IT Support Engineer for Apex Computing, I’m hoping to achieve and complete the Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) qualification by 2017. After recieving this qualification I will be able to implement skills learnt into day to day customer enquiries.
